Arvida has a holistic approach to care, known as The Attitude of Living WellTM it’s a resident-led way of looking at care. It begins with finding out what every resident needs to feel well, looking into our five essentials of living well – engaging, eating, moving, thinking and resting well. For one person, that might mean gathering up a team of staff and residents to attend local quizzes. For someone else, it may mean getting stuck into gardening and producing wonderful herbs and vegetables for the kitchen table. Resident-led care treats every resident as an individual with dignity and respect and involves them in decisions about their day.

At St Allisa we love to embrace the skills and special interests of our residents, especially when it comes to planning activities and trips, choosing menus, making changes to the indoor and outdoor environments, and interviewing staff. We also link in with local schools, libraries, and church communities to bring extra entertainment to our residents.
