Resident-led care is our speciality.
Well positioned for sunshine, the Arvida St Allisa community specialises in full time care that makes people feel treasured and listened to. Our gardens and courtyards make you forget that you’re in the heart of Christchurch. All types of aged-care are offered here – rest home, hospital-level and dementia care.
James MacKenzie, community manager, explains why St Allisa is loved by residents and their families.
“At St Allisa, we provide a friendly, warm, homely environment, rich in manaakitanga. Our community is shaped by our residents and the activities that resonate with them. Our whare is a place for everyone. We encourage and support individuals to make the most of their abilities and, where possible, increase their confidence to enable them to grow and enjoy as much independence as they can.”

At St Allisa we love to embrace the skills and special interests of our residents, especially when it comes to planning activities and trips, choosing menus, making changes to the indoor and outdoor environments, and interviewing staff. We also link in with local schools, libraries, and church communities to bring extra entertainment to our residents.
At St Allisa, residents and staff form distinct households, which helps to build beautiful relationships based on understanding, friendship and trust. The people who work at St Allisa are trained to provide the highest standard of care. Team members are encouraged to find ways to improve and take time to listen to the wants and needs of each resident.
