We've got options to suit, from premium rooms to care suites, offering rest home and hospital levels of care. Our villages in Red Beach, Tauranga and soon available in our East Auckland villages, also offers secure dementia care suites. Each village offers something unique.

Level of care Metlifecare offers

  • Rest home level care

    Round-the-clock, customised care and support with daily tasks like showering, personal care and medication management. We have exceptional staff who get to know every resident and their interests, hobbies, likes and dislikes.

  • Hospital level care

    Hospital level care provides the support and peace of mind of a registered nurse and care team on-site 24/7 for more complex medical or mobility needs. Local doctors visit regularly.

  • Secure dementia care

    A growing offering for Metlifecare, our secure dementia communities help residents and their families with the complex challenges of living with dementia while balancing freedom and security.

    Respite care and palliative care may also be available. Contact your preferred care home to discuss.

Types of accommodation

Premium rooms

Most Metlifecare care homes offer a higher level of accommodation than a standard room funded by the Daily Care Fee. Additional premium room features like ensuite bathrooms, larger rooms or outdoor balconies incur an additional cost. These premium accommodation costs are charged daily as a Premium Accommodation Charge (PAC), or in selected villages are funded via the purchase of an Occupation Rights Agreement (ORA).

Meltlifecare type of accommodation

Care suites

In selected villages, Metlifecare offers a new choice of funding care through care suites. Each care suite has a full ensuite bathroom and kitchenette, and many have a private balcony or patio. Some are large enough to accommodate couples, so you can receive care together in the same suite, even if one of you requires hospital level care. With more space to call your own and offering both rest home and hospital level care, there’s no need to move for high levels of care. Our care suites provide you with peace of mind, privacy, and a space to call home.

Our care suites are sold under an Occupation Right Agreement (ORA), the same model under which retirement village accommodation is purchased. By putting up some capital at the beginning to pay for a care suite, and with the capped maximum deduction at the end, residents and their families can rest assured they will not worry about running out of funds to pay for their premium accommodation.
