The Dutch Retirement Village "Ons Dorp" was the first retirement village established in New Zealand in 1983. The village is managed by the Dutch Village Trust and is a registered charitable organisation and a member of the Retirement Village Association.
The village, which is located in Hendersen, has a strong sense of community and is set on 11 acres of landscaped gardens. Although the village has a dutch flavour, people from all cultural backgounds are welcome.
Ons Dorp has 12 one bedroom units, 72 two bedroom units and 6 three bedroom units. The units come in a variety of designs and room sizes. Each unit has a garage and garden and some units include a conservatory.
Ons Dorp Care Centre has 20 resthome beds and 24 hospital beds. The resthome includes 16 large studios.
