• Merrivale Retirement Village is nestled among the hills in the peaceful Kamo countryside. Only a short drive from central Whangarei, the village is within walking distance of the Kamo village and shops and close to several golf courses.

The modern, serviced apartments at Merrivale Retirement Village offer both independence and safety. Our one-bedroom units have well-designed kitchens, open-plan living areas and en-suite bathrooms. Residents enjoy a midday meal, housekeeping and laundry services. Heat pumps and double-glazing provide warmth, while our 24-hour emergency call system and security patrols offer peace of mind. Having the Merrivale Care Home right next door also means help is close at hand if your care needs change. This dedicated facility offers rest home, dementia, hospital and day care, with en-suite rooms and stunning gardens.

There’s a strong sense of community at Merrivale Retirement Village. Our village van runs regular outings and shopping trips, and there’s a strong activities programme. Residents can listen to guest speakers and run meetings in the community lounge, check a book or puzzle out of the library or join friends for a DVD. Other facilities include a communal laundry and kitchen, and a wellness clinic offering health checks and advice from a registered nurse.
