  • Coastal Villas is located along the beautiful Kapiti Coast where residents enjoy the regions sunny climate and popular local beaches such as Raumati and Paraparaumu. The village itself is set on flat grounds within well-maintained gardens and is an easy walking distance to Coastlands shopping centre as well as a selection of great cafe and restaurants.
     
    Residents at Coastal Villas have a choice of two or three bedroom villas each with their own garage or a modern apartment within our recently built complex all with two bedrooms, two bathrooms plus garage.  Residents of Coastal Villas enjoy independent living while knowing they are in a secure environment with the added reassurance of being linked to our 24-hour emergency call system. For those after additional services such as cleaning, laundry, meals and personal care services, then our serviced apartments are the perfect solution with tailor made packages to suit. Coastal Villas also offers full continuum of care with an on-site care home offering rest home and residential hospital level care. This allows couples to stay close if needs should change at different times.
     
    Residents at Coastal Villas enjoy our many facilities which include, a dining room, leisure centre, tennis court, swimming pool, spa pool, workshop, bowing green and more. There is also a busy social activities program which extends from morning and afternoon teas, themed dinners, guest entertainers, handicrafts, painting classes and a knitters and natters club.

    Can residents make alterations to their property? ×
    Residents are welcome to redecorate their unit with discretion of the village manager. Any major alterations must be discussed and approved by the village manager.
    What do resident fees cover? ×
    This is a consolidated fee that captures costs such as council rates, water rates, building insurance, the upkeep of community facilities, gardening services, salaries and wages of the staff and village operations.
    How long is the cooling off period once the contract is signed? ×
    As per the Retirement Village Act, the cooling off period after an Occupation Right Agreement has been signed is 15 working days.
    When leaving the village, what is the process for units being sold? ×
    Units are advertised at market value. Residents are welcome to introduce a prospective resident as long as they meet the normal entry criteria of the village.
    Can residents have friends & family to stay? ×
    Any family members or friends are able to stay for a combined total of 90 days per year. Longer stays require the agreement of the Village Manager.
    What does the entry fee cover? ×
    The entry cost gives the resident the right to live in the unit for their lifetime or as long as they choose. When the resident leaves the village they will receive the cost paid minus the deferred management fee and any other charges due.
    What are the residents rights if the village got into financial difficulty? ×
    Residents are protected through a first ranking mortgage with the Village's Statutory Supervisor . They hold first ranking mortgage over the village land in order to ensure priority and security for the rights of all residents. The statutory supervisor also ensures the operator of the village acts in accordance with the Disclosure Statements and the village is run in a financially responsible manner.
    What happens if there is a delay in sale? ×
    Your village fee will cease as soon as Metlifecare is provided with vacant possession of your unit. If it takes longer than nine months to re-license, we will pay you interest on the outstanding capital. Plus you can apply for an early repayment of up to $20,000 of the capital sum when your unit is vacated.

    Our 30 bedroom care home with residential hospital level care, provides the security of 24 hour care from our team of experienced and friendly nursing staff. Residents are welcome to bring furnishings from home, like their favourite armchair and bed covers, so to feel at home. We pride ourselves on the quality of our staff, who are well trained, experienced, and always treat residents with dignity and respect. 

    We also offer serviced apartments near the hub of the village, for those who value their independence but may be need support with daily tasks like cleaning and laundry or personal care such as showering. Meals are included, which can be either be taken in your apartment or the nearby dining room. Each apartment is also connected to our 24 hour emergency call system. You will have access to all the facilities offered within the village, which include a library, a social club, shared lounges and a lovely swimming pool.
