Thank you for downloading The Ultimate Guide to New Zealand Retirement Villages. We have emailed you a copy so you can refer to it as needed.
Village Guide is an online directory and comprehensive guide to retirement villages in New Zealand. If you or a family member is considering moving into a retirement village, you’ll find plenty of information on Village Guide, including helpful resources about fees, contracts and paperwork, available properties, and more.
As New Zealand’s dedicated online retirement village directory, Village Guide is a trusted resource to help you find a home that suits your lifestyle. Using our search tools, you can quickly and easily view and compare different retirement villages from around New Zealand. You can also filter your search results by type of home (e.g. villas, townhouses or apartments), as well as level of care (e.g. independent living or assisted living). If you are interested in any, simply click on it to access more information and contact details. You can also request an information pack, or contact villages directly to visit and arrange a tour.
Every retirement village is different, so familiarising yourself with the options available will help you choose the one that's right for you. Choosing the right place to call home for the next stage of life is an important decision. Village Guide aims to give you all the information you need to make that decision with confidence.
There are many things to consider when choosing a retirement village. While all villages aim to improve quality of life, what this looks like is different for everyone. Things like the village community and facilities, if there are community events for residents, what levels of care and support are available, and your own personal preferences and personality can all affect what life will be like as a resident.
Village Guide has comprehensive information on many retirement villages across New Zealand. If you find a village that you’d like to learn more about, request an information pack from its listing page to receive more detailed information directly from the village. Depending on the village, you’ll receive your information pack via post or email. If you don’t receive further information within five working days, please contact us and we will follow up with the village on your behalf.
Some retirement villages have attached or neighbouring rest homes with longer term care options. Rest homes offer additional care options and features that retirement villages do not. If you’re looking to learn more about rest homes in New Zealand, click here.
