Fergusson Retirement Village is ideal for those looking for independent living with added security. The village and its associated care home buildings are surrounded by peaceful gardens in a quiet, residential neighbourhood close to the Rotorua town centre.
Fergusson Village has 14 units that have been extensively modernised in recent years. Facilities include the option of 24-hour Tunstall medical alarms, which can be used individually or in conjunction with other alarm systems.
Residents have a wide range of in-house activities at their disposal. Staff distribute a monthly calendar to help the villagers keep track of the possibilities on offer. These include outings into the community, Housie, quizzes, pamper time, exercise classes and more. Residents can enjoy the many cultural groups who visit each month and can also request transport to and from appointments, although a small fee is attached.
Fergusson Home and its village units were purpose-built by PSS (Presbyterian Support Services) before being purchased and renovated by the current New Zealand owners, Fergusson Restcare Ltd. The facility’s friendly staff welcome visits to look around and phone or email requests for their information pack.
